Savage 110 FCP HS Precision in .338 LM

Tooling for reloading is on order along with the scope (backordered) so I was investigating some factory loads. Price on Hornady 250gn was pretty good so I did a little review searching.

After finding bad reviews I called Hornady direct. The problem seems to exist with new Savage .338LM rifles and Hornady 250/285gn .338LM ammo. Savage cut the chamber to European CIP specs. Hornady designed their brass to the U.S. SAAMI specs. Bad fit. Savage and Hornady are working on this to come to a resolution. In the mean time, don't buy Hornady .338 LM ammo to fire thru a new Savage rifle.

Symptoms of problem are cases sticking in chamber after firing. Several Savage owners have taken their rifles to a gunsmith and had the chamber polished. Solved the problem.

That looks like a good new toy. Always heard great things about the .338. Never got to shoot it though. It just looks mean though. Good grab let us know how she shoots when you get her all together I'm very intrigued.
