no I mean "mag in grip" something you would carry like the walther p22, I have a ruger charger and home built tec22 but the mag forward makes them not carry friendly IMO

I like the idea of a .22lr version.

I think a 30rd 22lr would fly off the shelves, even if ruger could come out with a wider "replacement" frame for the 22/45 or mark series

Look at the difference between 22mag in a 3" barrel annd 22lr in a 10" barrel.
I stand by my prior post. In anything less than a 10" barrel, a .22mag is a very loud (and expensive) .22lr.

    check out <ballisticsbytheinch.com> very interesting. Take 2" off a .223 barrel (18" down to 16") and you turn a definite white-tail killer(almost 1200lbs) into a marginal gun(a little over 1000lbs)
The ballistics for 22 CCI Maxi mag from a 4 inch barrel is 1353fps.
That's a whole lot more punch then a 22 long rifle is going to give.

I agree. But getting a lot of ammo in a mag the length of a grip requires a staggered column magazine. Most of the double column .22 mags out there are for rifles like the 10/22 and have to be curved, not straight, for reliability. RamLine used to make a mostly plastic pistol kinda sorta based on the Ruger MKII that used their own staggered column 15rd magazine. The few people who bought one usually found they weren't reliable. Even the PMR30 magazine jams really well if you are not careful when loading it. The rims have to be stacked so each round's rim is in front of the rim below it, if you get one behind the one below it, the round won't feed.

^^^^ this is true... IF you load it wrong it will jam...

but how many of "us" on a site like this cant figure out how to load a mag?

ive been thinking of converting my Razor 22mag builds from using the roto mags to using the PMR mags... would be awfully nice!

Wouldn't even have to be a 30 rounder, but it would be nice, something like a 20 round mag would be nice too since everyone makes 22lr pistols 10 rounds.

Doesn't have to be Ruger, any company that would make a frame would sell a bunch of them since there's so many of these pistols out there.
