    Default Metalform 1911 mags ?

    Anyone know anything about this brand of mags, mainly are they well made and good quality?

    They might be made by Checkmate. I don't remember. When I found out that my Kimber 1911 mags were made by Checkmate I checked them out on the net, then ordered a bunch from topgunsupply.

    I've had good luck with them, except for their 8 rd 1911 mags. The followers tended to tilt and jam in those, a quick replacement solved that issue though. They are an OEM supplier for Colt and others.

    Thanks guys

    I asked because Midway has some 7 rounders on sale for $10 each, stainless with either paint or some type of coating (it's in the description). Oh and I just noticed it says "welded base", guessing the base plate is permanently mounted?

    Never used an 8 rounder.Just old school I guess.

    The flush fit 8 rounders are the problem. They were not designed to hold 8 rounds. The 8 rounders that are 3/8th longer were built to feed 8 rounds.

    I bought six Wilson mags back in 93 maybe. Best money. Ever spent even though it hurt at the time.
