Default WHAT ARE THE REAL NUMBERS ?????

WERE DO I GET THE REAL NUMBERS FOR PERCENTAGES OF TYPES OF GUNS USED IN GUN CRIMES AN ALSO HOMICIDES????

I DNT WANT BS INTERNET ARTICLES AN STUFF LIKE THAT I WANT FACTUAL INFO.

I HAD SOME PRETTY HEATED ARGUMENTS TODAY ABOUT AKS/ARS BEING USED IN GUN HOMICIDES MORE THAN OTHER STUFF.

I KNOW PISTOLS ARE WAY AT THE TOP AN SHOT GUNS AN NORMAL RIFLES ARE IN THE MIDDEL.

IF THERE GOING TO START PASSING LAWS WE NEED THE REAL NUMBERS TO FIGHT BACK.

ID LOVE TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PULL A CARD OUT OF MY WALLET AN HAD FACTS.

I THINK ASSULT TYPE RIFLES IS LESS THAN 8%.

ID ALSO LIKE NUMBERS OF HOW MANY ASSULT TYPE THERE IS VZ OTHER TYPES IF THAT INFO IS OUT THERE.

A GUY DINT LIKE ME TELLING ME HIS NEW BROWNIG 270 BOLT ACTION WAS CLOSER TO A SNIPER RIFLE THAN MY AK WAS TO A TRUE ASSULT RIFLE. HE KEPT SAYING ITS NOT A SNIPER RIFLE I JUST REPLIED YOUR RIGHT ITS LIKELY BETTER THAN MOST SNIPER RIFLES. WORST CASE IS THE GUY A FRINED AN HE IS OR WAS PRETTY PRO GUN. HE FALLS INTO THE NO BODY NEEDS A HIGH CAPACITY MAG GROUP, AN THEN GOES INTOIT HE WHOLE THEY DIDNT HAVE SEMI AUTOS IN 1776 BS. ITELL HIM THEY DIDNT HAVE , TV , RADIO, CELL PHONES , NEWS SATALITES AN MAYBE THAT FREEDOM OF SPEACH SHOULD ONLY USE TECHNOIGY THAT WAS AROUND IN 1776.

ANY WAY WHAT ARE THE REALL NUMBERS AN NUMBERS WITH REPUTIABLE SOURCES. LIKE FBI ETC.

Default Thanks for he link Kernel,

Am I just blind, or is the State of Florida conspicuously missing from this table?
While we all know that violent crimes happen here on a regular basis, it is an interesting point of fact that Florida is approaching issuing its 1,000,000th concealed carry license. Just saying......

As Florida nears 1 million carry permits, Keys are No. 2 - KeysNet.com

Maybe they missed the reporting deadline?

AFAIK, that's as far a breakdown as the FBI gives. However, if older stats still hold up only a small percentage would be "AWs" under the 94 ban.

Thanks for the link Kernel! Interesting chart. Clowns on TV today are all talking "assault weapon" ban. Looks like you are more likely to get taken out by a knife or other weapon than anything resembling a rifle.

IN STATES KNIVES AN OTHER WEAPONS WERE USED MORE THAN RIFLES.

ID REALLY LIKE TO SEE SOME SOLID NUMBERS ON ASSULT STYLE WEAPONS.

I FIND IT STRANGE THET THE GOVERMENT HAS SEPERATED THEM FROM EITHER THE RIFLE OR PISTOL CATAGORY PASSED LAWS REGULATING THEM DICTATING WHAT FEATURED THEY CAN AN CAN NOT HAVE A YET NO RECORDE ARE KEPT OR PRESENTED AS TO THERE PLACE IN CRIME STATICS. HOW IS THIS POSSABLE. IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT THE GOVERMENT HAS THEM SELVES CREATED THIS 4TH TYPE OF WEAPON AN YET THEY CAN NOT OR WILL NOT SPERTATE IT FROM STATICS.

I HAVE TO BELIEAVE SOME WERE THE NUMBER EXIST.

IM ALSO WONDERING IF THEY ARE NOT HOW ARD IT WOULD BE TO ACTUALLY RESEARCH THE COURT RECORDS AN FIND OUT THE TRUE NUMBERS. WHY HAS THE NRA NOT DONE THIS??????????????????????????????????

HOW CAN THERE BE LAWS ENACTED BASED ON UNKNOWN PERCENTAGES AN FACTS????

Part of the problem is there is no real definition of an "assault weapon" that is consistent. An SKS is used in a drive by, everybody calls it an AK or assault rifle from the cops to the DA, sounds more menacing to a jury. Look at the AR15, in full pre-1994 AW ban regalia it is an AW under that law. Change the name to "Sporter", hack off the bayo lug and flash hider and ya got a "not an AW" rifle under that same law. Yet the gun itself has not changed from a functional standpoint. Take a Ruger Mini 14 and put a folder stock on it, AW under the ban. Leave it in the factory wood, not an AW. Now how can the FBI, from a police report summary, know what type of gun was used in a particular crime beyond the general rifle/shotgun/handgun categories?

OK HOW ABOUT IF ITS SEMI AUTO OR OTHER????????? SEEMS TO ME IF THERE GOING TO BE PASSING LAWS AN STUFF THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME FACTS OTHER THAN IT LOOKS SCARY.

IF AT LEAST THEY COULD DETRMINE THAT WE COULD BE CLOSER TO HAVING A IDEA. AN IF THERE GOING TO PASS LAWS AN HAVE LAREADY THAT CERTION FEATURES MAKE A GUN A ASSULT TY;E WEPAON A SUBJECT TO THINGS LIKE 922 CRAP THEN LEOS NEED TO BE ABLKE TO KNOW THE DIFFERANCE WHEN A CRIME WEAPON IS RECOVERED. IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT HARD FOR A LWA ENFORCEMT AGENCY TO DEFINE IF ITS SUBJECT TO ASSULT WEAPON LAWS IMO. THEY HAD NI ISSUE WHEN THEY MADE UP LISTS OF BANNED RILFES BEFORE YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD KNOW IF THEY RECIOVERD ONE.
