Everytime I read an article like this one, or look at the comparisons of arms that were turned over to the regimes who controlled the registrations and confiscations vs the estimated numbers in circulation, two things come to mind.
Yes these people did defiy the tyranical order to turn in their weapons, BUT they continued the rest of their lives enslaved by the regimes. Their wives were still raped, their children were still sent off to work camps and they themselves NEVER gave ANY organized armed resistance.
Burying arms in the ground is not freedom or liberty in any sense of the words.
Bearing arms is freedom and liberty.
Give no quarter gentlemen, once lost, liberty is impossible to regain.
