Option #2and 3 are already on the table for a new camp/land right here in Vt. The one guy hasn't quite made the final discussion weather to sell it or not, but I do have a back -up plan already in the works. It's also a 125 acre piece,, not quite as nice as in NY,,, but still real nice. Option 3 is a spot that is on International Paper land that is a lease,, also a good spot,, but no real fishing there. Also way up high in the mountains with 2 other owners of the camp that's there now, some old cop buds of mine.
I'd been getting sick of the nonsense in NY already, but this last round was just the straw that broke the camels back. The last of the crew pulled there camper out of NY last week end. So counting all the people,, and there family's kids and Grand kids that will not be hunting and fishing there now, it must be close to a total of about 30-35 licenses that won't be sold there now, plus 10 campers gone from a local campground over there. Plus there is a next generation of Grand kids that are just coming of hunting age that won't be there too, so I'm sure that # is going to be much higher over all.
I do know my oldest grandson is very disappointed though,, this was going to be his first year at camp with the "guys". That's a big step towards manhood/womanhood for a youngster,, hunting camp,, a HUGE right of passage around here for a young lad/gal and something generations have looked forward to sense they got there first BB guns.We had the old camp set up so we'd take the girls to camp one week end and the boys the next, then all together. It was a great experience/lesson in growing up, and responsibility for all of them. Plus JUST PLAIN FUN!!! For everyone,,,,,
Perhaps if we had more of this type of "good influences" going on,,, by showing the younger generation responsibility at a young age there would be allot less thugs on the streets. And help to keep these incidents that have happened lately, down to a minimum. But I guess the plan is to keep all these missing daddy's spawn, a part of a fucked up system that rewards not being responsible and an a attempt to keep them a part of the "sheeple genaration". Sad Sad day, don't know what were going to do if things don't change soon. Were raising a generation of lost souls with no direction or hope for a better life, and that have no responsibility to themselves, there community, country or there kids they spawn that become future thugs due to lack of good nurturing and being a part of a real family unit. Sorry,,,,ranting again!!
I even had to pass on a fishing trip to Lake Ontario this week end with some real good friends,,,,DOWWWW,,,, I hate that part of this whole deal,,,,,it sucks!!!! But ,, lots of other places to hunt and fish I guess.
If this VT land comes into play they'll be a open invite for everyone here to help me Cristen,, a new shooting range. Let's hope it comes to pass while I can still get around and able to pass on a legacy of hunting and land/wildlife stewardship to my kids and grand kids. I've got allot to teach and so little time left to pass it on.
