Hey biggun. The AK didn't do anything to any American. It was done by the men using it and the trash that sent them to battle.
A gun is neither good nor bad. It is used by evil men for evil things and by good men for good things.

I realize all that . But its still the enemys gun in many cases an it does make you think some times that you wish he had not dobe such a good Job. Im sure if he had not some one else would have .

It impossible to calculate the effect the AK has had on history around the world .

I dont currently own a AR so that shoud show how much I like the AK design .

I have spent the last 10 years building them an have a few that will shot 1'2 groups. I hunt with them every year an will be taking one out this weekend .

the AK has been a huge part of my life during the last 10 years an will likey be so for many more years . I do hate to see designers an engineers pass. I was bummed out when Zora Duntov ( corvette engineer) an Carol shelby passed. I would have loved to have met John Browning . all these men an many more affect history so much an many never realize how .

When I got home from work early this morning, I said "rest in piece Mikhail" and had a shot of vodka, then had another one thanking him for designing the AK

RIP and thanks very much for the great rifle!

He did get the design from John Garand though.

If it wasn't for his design, I could not afford a deer rifle. RIP.

    Snippit:

Famous Russian arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov was buried on Friday at the federal military memorial cemetery in the Moscow region. Members of Kalashnikov's family and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu have paid their last respects.

The coffin with Kalashnikov's body was driven along the central alley of the military memorial complex. "Today we are paying last respects to an outstanding person - the person, who is a symbol of Russia," First Deputy Defense Minister Arkady Bakhin said.
