    Harley-Davidson unveils first electric motorcycle

Like loud pipes? Better get them while you can.

Harley-Davidson today revealed its first electric motorcycle, called Project LiveWire.

It’s the most radical departure in the 111-year history of the brand, best known for building rolling thunder on two wheels. A vision for a possible future production bike, Project LiveWire features more of a sporty touring look than the company’s classic cruisers.

The prototype is powered by a longitudinally-mounted electric motor rated at 74 hp and 52 lb-ft of torque, on par with H-D’s 833 cc internal combustion engine. The battery-powered unit was developed with help from electric powertrain specialist Mission Motors. Harley-Davidson says the belt-driven bike can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under four seconds, and has an electronically restricted top speed of 92 mph.

It isn't necessary to give up the Harley sound. A few nuts and bolts in the wheels will solve it.

I just don't do bikes, but their 50 mile range looks like it would suck for a touring bike.

I have seen a few fine looking young women on bikes here in S.C. Both crotch rockets and Harleys. I remember this one girls at Myrtle Beach Bike Week. She had a Yamaha FJ1200, some "Daisey Duke" shorts, with a thong bikini bottom showing through and above the waist of the shorts, and the bikini top on. She kept coming by to visit someone in our hotel. Every time she came by, people would crowd the railings on the upper floors. Man that girl was sooooo fine!!!!!!!!! Damn, I think I'm gonna have to go rub one out thinking about her. LOL.
    Enforcement, NOT Amnesty!!!!!!

"If they’re going to come here illegally, apply for & receive assistance through a corrupted Government agency encouraging this lawless behavior, work under the table & send billions of dollars each year back to their families in Mexico, while bleeding local economies dry, protest in our streets waving their Mexican flags DEMANDING rights, while I have to press ’1′ for English, then they need to be shipped back to where they came from!" -Chad Miller
