For something like this I'd rather have a spot on reciever than 'close enough' or 'good enough' reciever. Keep up the killer work Stan. These rifles are too cool not to put together, and too expensive to buy already built.

    you missed the point
and this has been discussed, stan or whoever has a proto type and its not ready.

yes there are not that many kits imported and of the ones here only 10-30% will ever be built. this is why we were asking for people to express interest for another party to consider building a proto type someone with vast experience and proven track record, competition is good its the American way
personally I don't care who sets up a workable proto type
if I can roll a AK receiver without a special jig, carve a DSA AR 0% to 100% w/hand tools and almost finish(not done yet) a 70-80% century FAL receiver w/ hand tools, this box receiver can not be that hard. I understand the bend for the ejector is tough, but the pictures posted here and those of the old DSA receiver kits seems like welding is the issue

and this has been dicussed here and at weaponeer and other sites???

enough on the personallities and lets get something going

New here to gunco, but I've been pushing for an AMT receiver for years. We have one in progress as a prototype, but it's just mild steel TIGed together to get an idea of what's involved. It's a nightmare. Get yours going Pirate and I'll be in for 3 sets(assuming the AMT and PE57 receiver sections are the same like I *think* they are). I bought early,.......all my kits have trunions.

    Pay no mind to Sprat.

    Default PE57 receiver

Yes Sprat you can build a receiver for the PE/AMT by hand piece by piece - I have seen it done rebuilding a post sample AMT. It worked but it wasnt very pretty up close.
To do it right in quanity will require someone who knows their stuff - sheetmetal stampings. I need three receivers now - bought another PE kit at the Knob Creek from DSA.

    Any progress? I need 3...

I have seen 2 of these built with homemade receivers and they still wanted over $3k for them.

I've heard of one built from 1.5" square metal tubing (.065" walled). It may be easier to start with quailty tubing and well the mag well on?
