    Default M1A accurizing

    M1A accurizing system preliminary concept

I?ve been looking at the different stocks available for the M14/M1A series of rifle.
There appears to be ways of accurizing these rifles without glass bedding the action.
There are also accurizer rails available from suppliers and are a factory installed unit on a customer supplied fiberglass stock.
I have a fiberglass stock as a spare that I will use as a basis for this experiment.
The difference between this unit and the ones commercially available will be the ability to tune the stock barrel combination, plus it is 4130 steel.
If you have ever owned a NM M1A you will understand the reason for not using the regular glass bedding method.

    Continuing with the project:

    Installing the accuriser rail:

The pad is adjustable for height to increase or decrease the forearm down pressure.

There is normally very little gap in the tip of the upper hand guard and the fore arm tip.
The rail has given this one the full gap and down pressure on the barrel

    Testing the rail:

This thing is heavy, The next one is going to be aluminum.
There are some design improvements needed.
