Default Colt Model 70 1911 slide question

I'm working on my new project building a couple 1911's. One has a colt model 70 slide. I'm thinking about changing the sights out.
Question is will that kill the value of the slide or hence it with new improved sights.

Give me your thoughts about what I should be doing with this slide.

I would be hesitant to do any milling on it if resale is a consideration. I like to trick out 1911s as much as the next guy, but I think you should be aware that collectors value will suffer from that kind of change. Original Colts are going to be the ones that bring the bucks years down the road.

Modify the sight and not the slide, capiche?
I have a daughter. I tell her, "911 is what you dial after you're raped. 1911 is what you should have before they try."
