I was stripping down one of the AR-10's I made from forgings today and realized I had not posted any builds in a few months. The camera I documented my builds on took a crap and took with it its internal memory.
But here is an AR-10 fresh from test firing, 2.5 inch groups with iron sights (will be putting my EOTECH and magnifier or the Aimpoint on it later)
The upper is an Armalite, a 16" bbl and some Colt lower parts I had extra. I don't have a BHO lever for it yet as the source was out of stock and has it back ordered. The safety is out because I was stripping it and decided to throw the pistol grip back on for picks.
Next up is to finish the paint job. For a 308. it is surprisingly compact and nimble, not much heavier then a Bushmaster 14.5" hvy bbl ar I have.
The hardest part was getting the angle at the rear of the upper to match, but I hit it perfect on this and there is ZERO slop between the upper and lower.
Here it is beside an ar15 with a fixed stock and 14.5" bbl
