Default 22 Pistol just for fun. (#2)

Figured it was time for a simple fun build.
I picked up a 22 barrel stub at the gun show last week.
The barrel was 13" long, half round and half hexagon, using the round part for this build.
So far I've faced and chambered the barrel ,turned and bored a tube for the receiver.
Made a receiver end cap and a bolt and bolt handle.
Next is cutting two pieces of sheet metal for the receiver, ar pistol grip mount, trigger guard, lugs to weld to the receiver tube to pin mount the lower to the receiver and finally the trigger/sear.
Simple single shot design, all scratch build except for the barrel and grip.
    Will post progress pics.

    A little more progress tonight.
Cut plates for trigger box, grip mount and two lugs to weld to receiver.
Gotta make the rear site and trigger/sear, then weld it up.
    Gonna finish with cold blue.

Got 2 do a little more on this.
Need 2 fine tune the sear catch a bit.
    Make some sights.
    Put on a finish.

I like the looks of that.
Is it a blow back design?
All you need to do is redesign the lower a little, near the front, and you should be able to use almost any single stack mag (most are 10 round).

Impressive, looks like this is a single shot top loading?

    Thanks guys.....
It uses a Fuzzbean single shot type bolt and trigger/sear.
No extractor, spent casings pop out when fired.
Simple easy fun build as a single shot pistol or rifle.

Open bolt single shots are fine, add a mag and ATF gets a bit upset.

Looks great, I'd like to see what kind of accuracy you can get out of the open bolt design. Usually that much mass slamming forward tends to upset the aim a bit.

Didn't see anything about it's an open bolt, if that's that case ignore what I said about the mag.

Default A 22 build just for fun (#2)

Except for finishing the brass front site this one is about completed.

The $10 barrel stub I used also had a 4" hex section that I cut off.
The hex section was an obvious candidate for an old time type top break derringer build.
So #2....This is a quick sketch of of my starting point.
