    Default My MIIG3 pistol build

This is what I'm starting with.

A top cocking Vmac upper that I will convert to side cocker.
    Full length picitiinny rail.
A ar15 rear sight aperture modified.
A shop formed lower from sheet steel.
A G3 pistol grip housing modified to semi auto.
    Shop made fore end.
    Shop made muzzle attachment.
Shop made single point sling mount.

I will post progress pics as I go.

First step...modify the trigger pack to semi only.
Remove parts not needed for this build.
Remove the auto notch from the hammer.
Cut out the area where the auto sear goes and weld a plate.
Relocate the pin to hold the sear spring, change out spring with a AR trigger spring.
Next drill a hole and weld in a 1/8" pin to prevent trigger tail from moving into auto position.

The converted trigger pack with welds.

Next, convert to side cocker, cut a hole to remove/install charging handle and travel slot.
I also bored out a AK bird cage flash suppresor to fit the barrel and welded it to a threaded tube I made.
Roughed out a wooden fore grip.

I will be making the lower from 1/16" wall square tube, hopefully in the next day or two and will post more pics then.

Finally got some time to fold and weld the lower.
The lowers size and placement is a slow process.
Making sure of the mag well and trigger pack sets at the correct depth in relation to the bolt is critical for function.
This should move along a bit quicker now.

Cut and fit the mag well and trigger pack into the lower.
The mag well extends into the lower about 3/8", so I'm gonna be able to do the welding on the inside.
Makes for a cleaner look and there will be no visible welds to clean up.
