And He's Off and running FAST!!!!

    Great work so far.

A hint that will save you time and frustration:

Since the barrel is covered in wood, consider painting the barrel and sights with Brownells baking laquer or Duracote / Guncote....

    Just a thought.

    Thanks Sprat:-)

Question. Left is barrel I removed. Do I need to make it look like the original? Just thought I'd ask.

You really don't need them. If you are concerned about it, shorten the follower at the front, and put an aluminum block in the well.

    I have never needed them.

Not required for 308, and debatable as to requirement on 8x57. Just the way the Yugo's did theirs. You will find that FN, BRNO, and La Coruna also did similar at various times to compensate for poor brass quality.

    Just my $0.02

WOW FAST WORK IS THAT THE BARREL FROM THE LINK YOU POSTED IN THE OTHER TREAD IN THE BOLT ACTION AREA????

HEY I KNOW YOU GOT BRASS FOR IT AT LEAST . LOL

ALL THE LARGE RING BARRLES I HAVE SEEN, LOOK LIKE THE ONE ON THE RIGHT INCLUDING THE 6.5 SWEDE DANISH SCHULTS AN LARSEN BARREL .

IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS IN PRETTY DECENT SHAPE TO START WITH.

Do you have any plans for the old 8mm barrel?
