    Default Commander frame I just purchased good or bad

    This is a link to the frame 1911 Commander Match Grade Blued Frame : 1911 Parts at GunBroker.com and is it a good frame. j427x I think I will be bugging you for info throught building this thing

    that should be an excellent frame.

    being it is a match the rails will need to be matched up to the slide, very tight fit --hence the name 'match" --

    Do the small parts on a 1911 interchange with the commander model if not where would I find the small parts kit for the commander I have been ripping my hair out searching the web

    IIRC, the only Commander specific parts are the frame, bbl, slide, recoil spring cap, recoil spring, and bbl bushing. All they did was shorten the length, everything else from the trigger back stayed the same except they used an "extended" ejector which is pretty much standard in all 1911 custom builds regardless of bbl length nowdays.

    I got the frame in and the frame parts This thing is kinda like putting legos together. The only problem I had was the sear was tight and not moving freely in the frame. all I'm waiting on is the slide. One question the slide I got is a series 80 and I know there are more safety features on the series 80 will the slide work on a standard frame?? Kernel and J4 thanks for the info.
