I found a couple more pics of a Firing Line receiver. The receiver is for a folding stock, but at least you can see how the rest of it looks:

I finally found time to work on the P228 some more. I was able to make the fixtures to hold the frame for the rest of the operations. And I was also able to machine the bottom of the mag well. The next operation, I'll be machining the top of the mag well. You can check out the details here

Here's a pic of what the frame currently looks like...

I got the 4th operation finished. I now have the mag well finished, besides filing the radius out of 2 corners. I'm going to try to get this finished tomorrow. I hope to have this frame finished next weekend, and I might even be able to shoot it next Monday. This will be cool if I am able to shoot it for the first time on Memorial Day

I got the 5th and 6th operations finished. I have to make one last cut with a 4" diameter saw blade for the hammer clearance on the back of the frame and this frame should be finished. Check out the full details on my website.

I'll keep you guys posted on the progress.

Here is what the frame looks like so far...

Absolutely beautiful! How much for the block of metal when you start?

Huh....I'm not real sure on the cost of the material. I just found some material at the shop to make this frame from. I'm guessing the raw material probably cost around $10

Winn R: Actually, I made the frame from a block of material using a hand file....haha :P Just kidding......the frame was machined on a CNC machining center.

JWH, I am working a deal that might get me a Firing Line receiver with the u-folder.
How long would you need to borrow it to make your measurements and stuff?

Sorry for the stupid question, but what in the heck is a firing line receiver with u-folder?
