ok with the old receiver stubs removed I fitted the 80% receiver to the rear and front trunnions for a fit then added the triggerguard, buttstock and the handguard w/ tripods

I am waiting on parts to finish the Yugo Hybrid M-76 so I thought i would try out the PE-57

next will be to open up the lower part of the receiver to allow the hammer function add the bolt, cut the charging handle, weld it together

    enjoy

Looks like all is going well! I'm still fucking around with renovations on the house,
so no fun for me, just work !!!!!

Is that an original barrel and what are the 3 "rings" on the muzzle end? A bushing of some sort? I've only seen a couple of those at shows, and not with the hand guards off, and never even handled one actually.
Damn,, that barrel is skinny, bet that will heat up some kinda fast. It really doesn't look like it has much "meat" by and in front of the chamber area either, or is that just an illusion due to camera angle?

The bulges on the barrel are for grenade launching. If you click on my photo thumbnail for my rifle, you can see them better. IIRC, Sprat's barrel is a .308 and he is still searching for a Swiss barrel. I got lucky finding mine, they are hard to come by.

as zoom pointed out its a 308 Sig AMT Chilean barrel a little shorter that the original barrel, and yes the bulges are for grenade launching, I want to finish the M-76 Hybrid in 8mm before I move on with this

Good luck finding a Swiss barrel. A Swiss 7.5 PE57 barrel just sold for $940 (+$15 shipping) on gunbroker. SWISS SIG AMT PE57 BARREL : Class 3 Parts & Accessories at GunBroker.com

ok found a swiss 7.5 barrel and I am now fitting the bolt in the receiver blank using valve lapping material. I put the project on hold over at Weaponsguild in the early fall for deer hunting

I will attempt to post some updated pictures I posted over at the guild, reminder this is a semi auto PE-57 kit not a demilled stg -57 full auto kit

once the bolt starts to slide freely, I will cut the bottom holes for the fcg

first Picture is of the demilled receiver ends fitted to the blank from artty

second is the impossible barrel I was told 1K times I would never find ( I found it on sturmgeweher)

third is the dimension drawing provided by Mike ( artty) for all to use

I will post the pics after I cut the bottom of the blank with hand tools, sharpie and micrometer
