Dont hang out in Gloster.
g2busmc and I had a fun afternoon of breaking barrel pins this weekend, and we had some really stubborn "G" pins. Really put my 12 ton HF press to work!
Well, to make a long story short, I got out the can of PB Blaster and let it soak about 10 minutes, and I *SWEAR* the things popped right out! At first I thought we simply got a smooth one, but 3 pins later and the same results for every one. I am going to make PB Blaster a standard part of barrel pin removal!
Hopefully this will help someone out - just run down to HD and grab a can. I think they still have the 2-fer promo special on them, so you'll get a small can too.

PB Blaster is always in my shop, it is good stuff.
If you have not tried it, you need to.
Be a Blaster believer, try it.
Is this stuff like Kroil or something totally different?
yeah its like Kroil but not as thin... little more of an oil looking base.
AeroKroil & PB blaster are both very very good... and depending on where you work: FREE

what fun you 2!
g2busmc: are you using curtis' (ak-builder) rivets? while were 'buddy' dropping, thought i'd chime in. just love those perfect lil' things he sells.
Used PBBlaster for my first virgin poppin', (sorry hc, um...) and it didn't go quite that well, had to drive back over to curtis' to get his jig, and finally, with a very loud pop, got it. hang in there newbies!

no a buddy bought a shit ton of em in some group buy, according to him their nice rivets. but um hmm thinkin now he hasnt built any aks, i actually built 2 of his 1919s. hmm gonna have to find out where he got em. why whats good about curtis's rivets? my buddy has the long ones the short ones with the swell neck, and short ones without the swell in the neck.
