Default Question about $40 HF Drill Press

I've read in a few other threads about folks that have got these, so I was wondering if the table would move to the left or right? I know the table will tilt, but wasn't sure about the other.

And were you pleased with it?

I have one and the table does pivot side to side. It's okay, but I wish I would have gotten one that is taller fro more depth at times. I think mine was on sale for $35 at the time.

I picked up a laser guided table top drill press from Lowes on clearence back in Oct for $18 It could use a bit more depth too but for the price I'm happy with it!

I have one of the HF drill presses and like it. It does a good job. I just wish they would make a cheaper drill press with a speed adjustment knob instead of having to change the belts around to get different speeds.

I purchased one (8"?) at HF with a 4" vice. Works great. Haven't had to change speeds yet. Adjusts just fine, plenty of depth for what I need. I got quite the Harbor Freight workshop started.

I do have their 1/2 hammer drill combo and the heavy duty sawzall as well. No problem yet compared to some of my other more expensive tool they seem fine. I've always been lucky and inherited and gotten used tools. I never pay too much for any tool, because I can always upgrade later.

That's why Harbor Freight is so great.

They are running a sale on the 1hp drill press right now for half price. I think they are something like $35.00 right now. Sale runs through the end of Feb.

Thanks Mbadboyz. I ordered the other one this morning, but it was on back order 'til the 11th. I have time to change my order.

Im not sure of the catalog number right now but when I get home I will get it and post it. They ask you for the number when ordering because they dont usually run that sale in every catalog. But they do run them for a couple months at a time. If you cant find it I would be more than happy to check our local store and if they have one, mail you one. Let me know.
