    Default One More Lathe, Clausing

Here is another curious metal lathe deal but on the west coast in Clovis, CA.
It is listed as a 6 inch Clausing lathe BUT appears to me to be a 12 inch swing (like mine) It has a QC gearbox. The model 501A Clausing is currently bid at $405.oo with 4+ days left to go on ebay.

The dealer/broker (Interschola) says that they think it is a 3-phase lathe BUT the cut power cord reveals three wires just like a single-phase 220 VAC machine (two hots and a common) !!! DUHHH. This auction ends 14 Sep @ 15:20 PDT. The ebay number is... 330470006028

There seems to be some interest in this lathe already perhaps by some knowledgeable fellows who suspect that this is a 12 x 36 inch Clausing, ill-listed. I would pounce but I have a Clausing 5918 lathe... Don't want to be greedy. It aint mine !!!

Yes, Coils I know this one is way too far for a drive.

I think your right, something to use as a reference that pallet is a standard 40"x48".

Yep, just a little bit out of the way.

I almost drove about 8 hours one way last fall to pick up a clausing lathe similar to that one. I lucked out and found a nice lather closer though. I'm pretty sure I got my 6
"kurt vise from the ebay seller. The shipping was more than the price of the vise.
