Default Free 12x30 Lathe for $1.oo

Here is a very interesting 12x30 Hendey 12 speed gear head metal lathe for only $1.oo in Connecticut. It is still in operation but available. You snooze you loose. It does weigh 2800 lbs and a WW-II veteran machine tool. Hendey machinery was/is top of the line stuff.

The lathe isn't mine. If it were in Arizona it would be !!!!!

That is an awesome find! hopefully a member nearby can snag it so it doesn't go to a scrapper.

Heh...Heh I was looking for the flux funnel & wire feeder. When I was a kid outside Detroit I used to rebuild catapillar idlers & rollers. That was a hot little room. They made me do the sprockets & pads outside in the rain. I've still got that 440 buzzz going on!!

For a dollar, Id buy it , depending on the cost to ship by common carrier, it would bave to be put on one big pallet or one at each end, and banded down.. I dont think it could cost more that a grand, maybe even less, but its ine hell of a deal...Doc

    Hello zapster,
I was refering to the strange-looking chuck on your Hendey. Or is that a blur from a spinning chuck ???
