Default Adding an "H" handle to your H-press... enough of the t-nut!

I don't know about you all but I was headspacing an AMD-65 last night and I really got tired of screwing around with the jack handle while I kept pressing, releasing, removing, pressing, releasing, etc... I also hate the same problem when bending receivers as you are always pressing a little, releasing, pressing a little, releasing...

Well, last night I swore I was going to find a handle to that damed little "t" nut and here is the result...

    Default Nicely done Q.B.

Hey that's a pretty cool modification. Necessity being the mother of invention. The Father is "comfort and convienence". Very good idea. going to have to let a buddy know for his press. Thanks for sharing!

Now if happen to come up with a solution for our little delimma regarding a reinforcing plate for the bottom of the receiver on an underfolder... yep, that's the bad boy that needs a solution next.

Great idea quarterbore, where do you pick up handles like that? I was going through the same frustration with my amd build the other night.

Ya know, I was thinking about the same thing when I was at the hardware store last week. I was looking at some big round plastic pieces with brass inserts and a set screw, but couldn't find anything I liked and forgot about it.

I'm glad to see that you went ahead and tracked down a usable knob for this purpose. Looks like I'll be making a trip back to the hardware store.

I should have added, this is also nice as the entire handle is metal (stainless?) so that notch I cut into the handle really serves to turn that valve... Not that we need that much force to tighten it down but my whimpy fingers were getting raw from doing it by hand the other night... Glad I could share something... well different as I have learned a great deal from all of you about building AKs...

Just what the doctor ordered. I was going nuts the other day moving the handle from place to place while trying to hold everything in line with the other hand. Thanks!!

I have been wanting to do this same thing for a long time now! What a great find! I'll have to find some Danco handles for my Harbor Freight 20 Ton press!

    Thanks for posting this!
