Years ago I broke off the tip of one of my ak sight adjusting tools. I finally got around to fixing it this past week end. I had planned on just welding up the tip and recutting the slot or just welding on the shank of a grade 5 bolt.

I found that there was enough material left on the shaft to just break off the other tip and recutting the slot with out any welding. The hole for the front sight post must also be drilled slightly deeper. It is easy enough to do that almost anyone can do it. I am sure that some body must have done this before, but I have not seen any pictures of it. I hope that this can be of some use to some body with a broken sight tool.
