    Default New shop toy.

While rummaging through a machine shop that was selling out. I noticed that the shop's owner was real carefull to remove a chuck from the one drill press before someone thought that it went with the drill press. I asked him what it was and he called it a Walhstrom chuck. He demonstrated it to me and I was amazed (I am easily amazed though). You change bits while the drill or mill is running by pulling down on the collet. The bit falls right out! I figured it wasn't for sale, so I did what any red blooded American cheapskate would do.....I searched Ebay for one. I found one new in the box with several arbors, including an R-8, for about $50.00 shipped. This will be great when drilling receivers and switing from a spotting drill to various other size drills.

    George,

Make sure you hide that real good, the next time Winn drops in for a visit.
I can just see your new addition headed up I-95.

I've never heard of a Walhstrom chuck before, but it sounds cool.

    George--

I have too much $. I'm sure it comes from not having a woman around here.

    Help me out tomorrow.

Bandsaw, end mills, neat stuff. I'd hate to go back to spending it on women.

George, are you sure that thing doesn't require a tax stamp?

I received the chuck in yesterdays mail. It is one precision piece of equipment! Now when I butcher a piece of work...it will be with greater tolerances.
