But please post your thoughts on this thing when you get to mess with it, I'd like to get one. And maybe a little lathe, but then I might just swing toward a 3 in 1 too?

Did you get the mini mill or the micro mill? Your link is the micro mill.

I have been looking at the mini, is anyone using the micro?

i got the micro, and it arived the other day, i have been playing with it.... i am very impressed with it, it does a decent job, altho i havent really done anything with it yet,i have been playing around with scraps of aluminum and crs. i like it very much and it seems to be a decent set up. the dials have nearly zero backlash, it is fairly quiet and it can make some fairly deep passes in aluminum and ok size passes in steel, vibration is minimal. it really has no big drawbacks except the size, but it IS a micro mill

i got it out the door for 252$ after using my online price to go from 319 to 299 and then a 20% off cupon from the forum here.

it will be a wonderful setup for some things like trimming top rails. 1911 and ar builds it would be perfect!, some other 80% builds too. i wish i had this thing when i built my sa sten.i will be milling a feed ramp for the sten soon, and i will write up a thing on it. if you want a mill and want a mill for CHEAP that will do lots of smaller projects, this is you mill! its no bridgeport, but it is a awsome little toy that any home hobby gunsmith should have. im thinking that this will be awsome for making buffers and stuff too!

Sounds like a good deal, I was a little skepticle myself about the machinery from HF, but now it sounds like it would be an excellent addition to the shop.. Let me know if you find any other likes dislikes about the mill, or what personal touches you add to it to make it work better for you..

Several other companys sell the same mill under their names. The milling machine chat groups say they are pretty good.
