Shouldn't the blact cabinet contain that dust?

I have a vacuum with a HEPA filter on mine, I never have a dust issue. I use aluminum oxide also.

There needs to be a vent, your pumping in air for the siphon so it has to get out. They have changed the design of the cabinet since I got mine but mine has a hole (with a plastic cap) that can be used for a vac system, I put a wet filter in between the cabinet and the shop vac.

I bought my blast cabinet and separator from work when we moved into a smaller building. I stopped for a case of beer on the way home and some dude offered to buy it right out of the back of my truck for $500. I could have over doubled what I paid for it but decided against it. They are sweet to have.
