Excellent, my wife wants to weld with it too, so I get a free pass to buy it after christmas.

Go to their website and sign up for their flyers if you haven't already. They often print a 10-15% off coupon beside the mailing label to get you in the store. You will also need an argon tank and regulater to use it, or the tank can be rented for a few bucks a month. IIRC, my local welding supply quoted around $110 filled for buying one of their tanks, 80 cubic foot size. HF has an argon reg for around $30 or $40?

HF has tanks there, like 50 bucks.....if you do a search on here you can find the 20% coupon that never expires. I use it every time I go.

Are you sure it's an Argon cylinder? My HF only has the little acetylene and oxy tanks for their portable torch kit. They do list a 20 CF Argon bottle on their website but it's $77. Dunno if pricing is the same everywhere, but the 20s cost $14 to fill here and the 80s are $18, so you get 4 times the gas for $4 more with an 80 CF tank.

One of the first things I want to do when I get back from Russia next year is take up a welding class at the local community college. I'm sure I'll pickup one of these setups too. Metal working and welding have things I have always wanted to learn how to do but never had a teach to show me.

Well, I just splurged and bought a cheap guitar pedal off Ebay, if it's modifiable I should have pedal control in a week or two.

having a foot pedal is great, you can really do some fine welding with one.

I guess once I get relocated and have the workspace, I'll have to come back to this thread and bug the poo out of y'all! I have many needs for a mill, lathe, and welding equipment.
Want to buy: Tantal Left and Right side selector parts.
