Default If they are asking too much, leave it alone.

Found this out the hard way unfortunately.

If someone is asking way too much for something, there is no good way of telling them that without feelings getting hurt and a flame war started.

Let the market tell them. They will figure it out when nobody buys it or responds to the ad.

If you want to lowball somebody, you will find that doing so in a PM will cause a lot less trouble on the board.

These are suggestions, I'm not trying to tell anybody what to do - really more like relaying what happened to me in a couple of instances (no, I was not the lowballer ) GG

    So did I.

This was e few years ago, and I don't remember what forum it happened in or even what the item was.

Anyway, the guy's price was way out of line, much too high.
I commented in a nice way, I was actually trying to be helpful.
I figured the guy would have a realistic chance of selling it, if he adjusted his price.
Boy did the SHTF, after he got through ripping me a new one, some others piled on as well.

Ever since if I saw something priced way out of line, I just chuckle to myself and move along.

GOOD advice 7.62x39. Dad always said " son, you can't ever win a pissin' match with a skunk", great advice.

I don't even post anything in any market forum, other then to say "I'll take it".......if it's too high, I just go on my merry way.......seen too many so called self appointed 'price police" put their worthless 2 cents in, then it becomes a flame fest, with bad feelings hurt on both sides.

I just don't understand why folks take it upon themselves to put their opinions in about the price......especially since they have no intention on buying it in the first place.

Advice is the only thing that when given away free, and no one wants. However, the advice is generally followed when you pay to get it.

This kinda reminds me of a cartoon I saw years ago, it was a lemonade stand with a couple of kids, selling lemonade for $50 a glass. The caption was....

Come on. All we gotta do is sell one glass.

its better to leave those people alone. After 6 months of sitting in the classifieds without even a nibblethey will figure out that they are overpriced and need to change their bait..........if you open your mouth even with the best of intentions you will get grilled for it.....
