Default Is .223 too big to hunt rabbits with?

If not what grains would you stick with? What type of bullets?

I would say it is if you want any meat left for rabbit stew! Yummy stuff. But if you are hunting the dreaded Jackalope that is a different story. If you don't drop it with one shot it has been known to charge and those antlers have caused many nasty wounds.

No, I want to see some images of hunting the silly wabbits with .223. There was some guy over on ARF a year or so ago that had a bunch of images where he did and some were tore into pieces, some with eyeballs popped out and some with only a small exit wound.
I will do an archive search and see if I can find them..

I've shot small game with fmj 5.56 , really just to test it out . Squirrls it would just put a little .22 hole through , shot 3 or 4 and it stayed consistant . Rabbit's or racoon it would normaly destroy the end you shot . Stick with a head shot on rabbit's if possible was my answer to myself. Never tried it with h.p.'s , was only intrested in the military load. BTW , I'm pretty sure if you shot one length ways it would it would just poof him . Didn't try it as that wasn't the point .
