I like the tenting method, too, but only in the summer.
The guys I bought the camper with used to tent with me all the time, but I guess we're spoiled now. Gotta be comfy (gettin old, I guess)
Something about sleeping in a tent at -30 just don't seem right...

Dunno, everything was stripped of leaves, I do know we got a piece of fatlighter--if you never smelled it--it has a very distinct smell--but I'm not willing to go testing the types of wood that make me sick--I will gladly avoid at all cost--my fever hit 102.7, I was violently dry heeving, my throat was so swollen I couldn't even swallow broth--me at one of my most glorious moments let me tell ya! the worst part was my mom and dad felt so guilty, but it was my idea to start a fire and roast marshmellows

As promised here is our home away from home--gotta love it out there

well these are the "friendly neighborhood alligators" they have been aggressive towards us at times, mainly if it's nesting season. The one in the blueish water actually knocked my dad off the seadoo shortly before we took this pic--he came outta no where---apparently he was quite irritated that day--as you can see they're pretty large and in charge--the one up top is about 12-14 feet long--that's just part of his head and some of his tail. When we saw him for the first time we were in awe--especially since my dad was in the water with him

    here are some more pics--

that's my bro walking in the first pic, my dad is kneeling down--the island is one side of our paradise

the tent under the blue tarp is our "kitchen"

the dog is my mom's chihuahua--his name is nacho--he has to wear his glasses and hat

and the boat is our mode of transportation

and here are the last pics--

the splash is a pic of another gator that charged our boat and went under right in front of us

the tent is our home--well one of our homes we normally set up 2 tents and the kitchen (of course again we captured my dad's good side)

and the rainbow--looks like 2 of them--is one of the many beautiful reasons we escape the real world and go to the lake.....
