Well he's definitely got a good rifle for anti-vehicle engagements.

I've seen the same effect in Florida after hurricane Ivan. The day after the storm, people were driving like all traffic laws had been repealed. The day after that the Florida National Guard were there directing traffic with their M-16s slung. Made a huge difference.

Never did determine where they originally came from but we did find a couple para models over there. Held on to one, just in case . Grabbed some ammo from one of the Stryker sniper teams and dialed it in. We had a 600m range and that thing was spot on all they way out.

What was the source of the photo? The beret looks more like the kurdish customs and border police wear, not what you see down south.

edit: by held on to I meant we used it in country, not I brought it home.

Aloharover, from what I understand, most of the FAL's over in Iraq were coming in from Kurdistan. The Kurds had been buying them up on the world market for a while.

I honestly can't remember who sent me the photo, I've had it at least a year if not longer. I have two buddies who were with the VA ANG 276th Combat Engineers who were stationed in Mosul last year.

    Both are home now.

Welcome to the board and thank you for your service!

    ah small world.
My unit ran the FPOC on Marez where the 276th lived at. We got home in Feb.

Makes sense about the Kurds. The also have a great supply of Sterlings.
