I have purchased from the seller, he is a good guy and his kits are pretty nice.

Nice looking kit to start with. Thanks for pointing it out. I know who I'm talking to when I have the spare money to put together/buy and M14.

Wow! and it's not $1200 like some kits I see. It s a little more crusty than those though.

What would you need to restore this into a working semi? Not sure I've ever seen a conversion process for an M14

No conversion required. The reciever and a few extra parts are what differentiates an M1A from an M14. An M1A receiver does not have the selector tab on it, thereby not providing a mounting point for the selector and link. I have had the occasion to fire a class III M14 and can honestly say it is an absolutely useless feature!

To be really accurate, M1A is a licensed and registered trademark of Springfield Armory to describe what is in effect a semi auto only M14.

I dunno........I'm wookie sized and can handle a full auto M14 pretty well......but you're right...my buddy who's 5'9", former Marine and current LEO carbine instructor couldn't keep it on target.

I'm not exactly small at 6' 240 lbs. My point was just that a 7 1/2lb rifle in full auto in a major caliber isn't controllable for the majority of those fielding it.

    Wookie sized!

I like the way the guy on the Tale of the Gun puts it with the M14 in full auto the first round is on target, the second is head high and the third is anti aircraft. I can't imagin that the FAL was any better. Did the Cetme have a full auto function?
