    Default DP 28 range videos

I finally got to take the gun out again saturday. I got some Russian surplus and brown bear to run in it, and it performed like a chemp. the gun has a couple of quirks, first, the bipod is not so hot, the legs don't go far enough forward and in rapid fire it wants to colapse. The second thing is the safety, it is not really ergonimically designed and not suited for rapid fire. you need to hold it down with one hand and operate the trigger with the other.

The gun is a blast to shoot once you get the hang of it, it is a powerfull round and the felt recoil is mild. so far this is the 3rd time I have had it out. the first time it failed to fire with bulgarian ammo, I installed a longer hammer spring that Wise Lite sent and tested it again with some wolf and unknown surplus, it ran both fine, but still will not light off bulgarian. Personally I think the firing pin protrusion is to short. However it did great with the russian and brown bear, we ran about 500 rounds with no problem. I have some czech surplus I want to try next time out.

I had a problem with one of the mags, the rounds got cocked inside and jammed it up. the other 2 mags worked fine. I need to tear the one down and see if all the fingers inside are ok and give it a cleaning and lube. the mags are sort of apita to load, I need to make a tool of some sort to be able to load them faster.

Overall I am quite pleased with the build, the fit and finish are excellent and the gun was even sighted in. This is a nice addition to my collection and turns a lot of heads at the range with its funky stock and pancake drum

Wow! That is intense. How much does that thing way? It jumps around a little but for a 7.62x54 it seems pretty controlable. Btw the underfolder came together nicely. Thanks

It is pretty heavy, I would estimate over 15 lbs, it doesn't have much felt recoil but it does jump around a lot. the 7.62 x 54R is a potent round, it packs a lot of wallop down range.

glad to hear the uf came out good, it is a nice kit.

with a loaded mag it feels heavier than that, the mags weigh a ton.
