Sweet! Aren't you glad you don't have to slug that around as your standard issue.

However, that weight will make it so much easier on the shoulder

I saw a few of these at the Raleigh, NC gun show and your right they are HEAVY. Nice find.
If you want more gun control, use both hands.

I have one that I picked up years ago for $99.00 at a gunshop in Huntsville. The sign he had over them read "only dropped in the sand once". I liked the idea it shoots 8mm ammo. One thing I found out though was not to shoot the rifle with the front suppressor off, that joker is loud. Now they are way up there in price. That was when you could buy a Blue Sky import M1 garand for $200.00 and a M1 carbine for $100.00, those were the days.

    Talking Could'a Would'a Should'a

I picked one up about 5 years ago at a Sun Coast gun show for $100.00 I tryed to find another Hakim mag but they were $75.00 and it had a cut down stock so I sold it for $175.00, I guess I should have held on to it, it would have made more interest than money
in the bank. ( nice restoration job )

    Looks nice.

Remember to put the safety on if you reload it with the mag in the rifle, it's more painful then a Garand.

You can also use Mauser stripper clips with these, I've found the steel ones work best but have a few heavy brass ones that also work.
Here's some pics of doing this, I hope

Frogman, I seen one of the hakims in a pawn shop where someone had cut the stock down trying to sporterize the rifle, man that was ugly. The rifle was going for $75.00 and the pawn shop owner thought there was something wrong with the rifle. The reason he did was he said the bolt was stuck open. I bought the rifle for my brother's birthday. After I bought the rifle I closed the bolt, the pawn shop guy was amazed, lol

Coils, nice tutorial for using stripper clips.

Surprisingly the one I had never jammed with surplus ammo. It would shoot anything. If I remember right the gas valve had to be tuned to reduce the kick . Nice Pic's I wish I could
    do that.
