    Default SVT-40

    found an svt-40 today. all numbers matching. 1 magazine. the guy wants $1000 for it. opinions? it seems to be in really nice shape. is this a good price? does anyone sell magazines for it?

    The last one I watched, sold for I think $850.00 & it was a beauty. The bayos are pricey & I believe SG has some right now. I doubt you could go wrong investing in one of these.

    You might find one for less but it's getting harder to do. Mint examples will go for 12-1400. I don't know why the bayos are so pricey, they don't seem to be exceedingly rare, I've resisted paying that much for one.

    Common practice was to reload the mag in place using stripper clips, so a spare isn't really necessary. They usually go for over $100 if you can find one.

    Damn, I have made some money on mine since I bought it then. I really enjoy the SVT-40. It is a very nice gun.

    is the trigger pretty decent? any slap to it?

    I never noticed trigger slap, but I never niticed it on an AK either. Too me it is more like an SKS or a msin than an AK though.

    Stamped matching or electropencilled? Is it a plumb colored bolt refurb or original condition? Seems high unless original/non-refurb.
