Soooo.... how's it shoot? What ammo are you using if you do? Looks very good.

Well I have not shot it yet as I picked it up late Friday afternoon, as to ammo the rifle was designed with an adjustable gas system to accommodate all the different military 8mm ball ammo that the Egyptian government had stock piled, so any of my surplus should work just fine, Yugo, German, Romanian etc. The only ammo that I have read about that could be problematic is the old Turkish ammo. Reportedly that ammo is very hot and should be used only in bolt action rifles.

I am not the kind of person to buy a rifle and not shoot it, however since this rifle is kind of rare to find in this condition, the bore and bolt face are pristine as is every other part of this rifle, I am hesitant to shoot it. I am not even sure what the value of one of these is in this kind of condition. I have seen beaters that still shot very well sell for around 400 to 500 bucks. I got this one from a friend who has a pawn shop for 425.00 out the door, which I thought was a good deal.

Yeah, that's a great deal. Beaters are going for that much or more these days. I've never seen one as nice as that.

You got a great deal..really nice. I have looked at several and all had seen heavy use. I'm not sure if I would shoot that one?

There is a guy selling refurbished (but not unissued ones) like the one I have below for about $550 on gun broker... I think I got a pretty nice weapon out of the deal. I picked up an 8 pack of MG-13 mags to modify, a little extra ammo capacity never hurt anyone. I just didn't want one of those dangerous "assault weapons".

If that rifle looks unfired, I think I'd leave it that way and look at it as an investment.
Try to get as much as you can out of it, there's a collector looking for one, and use those funds to get a good shooter and some ammo or whatever.
