I don't have one but I've bought stuff for my HK 93 build from them.
Russian SVT-40 Rifle Parts - Buymilsurp.com
Are there any parts sources for the Tokarev SVT-40 besides Numrich GPC and SARCO ??? I have both their listings but am looking for more small parts for my SVT-40 shortie project.
Has anyone adapted an SVD mag or similar to their Tokarev rifle ???
Thanks for the link. It seems that the parts are drying up big time. The mags are out of $ight !!!
You are going to molest a SVT-40? Hopefully there is something wrong with the barrell that you are fixing.
The SVT-40 was a "kit" found at a gunshow for $12.oo about 20+ years ago. The kit consised of a barrelled stripped receiver. The bore is rather toasty. I bought major needed parts back then at the old pricing. I also got a fresh walnut military stock made for it back then (fortunately). Broken old SVT-40 stocks today command $200.oo.
When completed the shortie will resemble the one in the Brit Enfield Patternroom Collection, I hope. The shortie will reside on my dinner table once I complete the small lathe resto project sitting there presently.
I'll try to post a picture of the original Soviet SVT-40 carbine variant.
Here (I hope) are a couple SVT-40 shortie carbine pictures from a Russian web site. Some of these shorties were factory built and some were field mods from full-length SVT-40's during WW-II. They resemble an SKS on steroids.
As a youngster I had a well-used SVT-40 from Finland captured in WW-II. It cost big bux of $35.oo in those days (1960). My good friend got one given to him with a broken stock and some missing parts. I helped him restore his SVT-40 and get him interested in gun collecting. He retired as a full Colonel from the USAF, a medical doctor, and Star Wars scientist. He may yet have that "free Tokarev".

Some people have modded PSL mags to fit, but SVD mags are expensive as hell so I wouldn't mod them... You have to grind the ribs off the sides, or flatten them out.
Sweet, so you are bringing one back to life. That is good news.
Later after I posted, my nephew dropped off a box of my missing SVT-40 parts I hadn't seen for years. Included was a mint condition original Tokarev 10 rd box mag !!!
Thanks for the tip about the SVD and PSL box mags. I believe that I'll get a couple Lahti-Saloranta 20 rd box mags and blacksmith them to work in the SVT-40 shortie.
Yes, 00redZX-6R I'm trying to re-create a variant SVT-40 carbine such as the rare WW-II model from bits and crumbs.
That is going to be a awesome project!
