    Well here goes,
i have had a cetme, wished i had it back. it shot fine for a battle rifle
those spanish ladies either give you a fit or treat you well.

had a garand it shot fine also, the only issue was the early clip ejection
and ammo m2ball will become harder to come by cmp seems to stock plenty
    for now..
which i have found most older military firearms come with worn out or
ill fitted parts, but they are fun to work on and learn history from.

got an ar15 , i would love to have an A1 though..
they are easy to work on and or build, and shoot really well, i love peep sights also......

would love a FAL and M1A but cost too much right now

shot an AK tuff battle rifle but not too accurate, but gets the job done i guess....

i did however pick up a new mini14 due to the fact , i was built after the garand and m14 style, look a like and the newer one's shoot very well
2 to3 mom at 100 yards however not as tight as the AR15 but it looks darn cool..

found a svt40 at a gun show once and can kick my self for not getting it for 750.00 a few years back

and i like the SKS it is another tuff rifle , but the sights are not so good for me....
so i am just using this section cause no post yet

When I hear "battle rifle", I think of more heavier calibers than .556 or 7.62x39. That being said, I like a FAL.

If you are interested, I have a Century FAL for sale with some extras.

    Here is a link:

The thread explains the issues I am having. Given my preferences, I would not sell anything.

    Let me know....

If you mean you didn't see any posts, you need to select "from the beginning", there's over 15 pages of threads in this section.

I have to agree with 555th, when I think "battle rifle" I think of rifles in 308 or larger caliber.
Too many that I like to list, wish I owned as many as I've fired

    My shorty AR-15s.. first.
Then my Yugos. If they get in real close, the Yugo is heavy enough too smash them over the head.

I think in the prepper community they refer to 1. Assault Rifles and 2. Main Battle Rifles. Seems to be based on calibre more than anything. Obviously I haven't had experience with everything so I can only refer to what I have or tested. Staying with that protocol my favorites are:

    1. Assault Rifles

    a) AK platform (Arsenal Conversions), Saiga Conversions and WASR.
    b) AR platform (Daniel Defense, Rock River Arms)
    c) SKS (takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin')

    2. Main Battle Rifles

    a) FN FAL (DSA, Century - eventually will get a pre-ban Belgian Congo Para)
    b) CETME
    c) M76 (mine is balls on accurate - needs some fine tuning to cycle better)
    d) AR-10 (looking to obtain a LAR-8 eventually)
    e) PSL 54c (have a few and they work well)
    f) NDM-86 (or even a Tiger SVD - hopefully someday)
    g) HK91 (sold long ago - would like to get another some day)

Any rifle which will go boom and take out what it's pointed at every time you need it to...Other than that I more than fond of my cetme's.
