have to agree with the posts above WOW great build, you are among few here who can use their own imagination, skill and direction to do something different,
I don't fully understand the mixing of the parts and relined barrel part but again nice project

you get a gold star from sprat

Beautiful!! One of those weapons I've always wanted but was always out of my price range.

I still need to make some magazine guides, the screw on type of a 1st model 1918, drill the gas port and make a bolt stop/buffer. Then it's ready to test fire. I have already checked the head space and it's O.K. The barrel is sleeved on the o.d. to BAR diameter because I couldn't get a decent original BAR barrel at an affordable price. Oh yea, still have to make a front sight. Original BAR parts are priced out of sight that's the reason for so many scratch built parts. It's either that or no BAR. Besides, I enjoy the challange.

Scratch built is good ,if you can take a raw piece of steel and make your own , your at the right site, really like your attitude and determination
when folks ask me how I make or do the builds I do by hand i say if you set your mind to do it it will get done
helps to have the talent and knack for this stuff

That project is a very cool solution to the shortage of BAR kits and parts. It does help to have talent (lots of talent), some machinetools, and welding equipment.

Congrats on a fine and inspirational project. This is the good stuff !!! I hope to see more of it.

No, but I got to fly in a real P-51D one once. Coolest airplane ride I have ever taken.
