    Default My CMP Garand...

... is one year older than my dad! LOL SA low 2-million range which was built in Oct 1943 according to the online references.

"Service grade" with a 2 muzzle and 4+ throat. Love the stock - cartouche markings are all still visible and the stock has a definite "been there" feeling and look to it! Happy days... took them 6 weeks to process.

Nice to see that you got one! I've really enjoyed mine, I know you'll have some fun with that one.

That is a beauty... Good luck with it!

Got one from DCM years ago and its been a real blessing. Many thousands of rounds and the only hitch was a firing pin.

I have wanted one for so long, but I just never seem to put it at the top of the priority list. What kinda money are service grade examples going for now?

$650-ish although right now they are "sold out not accepting new orders". I will probably order myself a few spares for that price point

The $999 "special grade" model is what my friend received - new stock, new barrel, etc. so it doesn't have as much "character" as mine does, but it looks brand-spanking-new and has a brand-spanking-new barre. Worth consideration if you simply want a shooter vs. "collectible".

OK is it me or is the leather sling setup overly complicated? Can't figure out what the intention was for such a complicated sling arrangement...
