I took two white tail bucks last year with a AMD 65 pistol at 225 yards aprox 3 seconds apart off a fence post. I shoot these with my head down on the reciver cover with the trigger in a archery type position with a full size 4x12 scope mounted way forward. I think a 308 or 243 build with a 16" barrel at 300 yards is very doable if the conditions are right. I have taken mule deer at over 400 with a 20" barreld rifle several times. I am puting a versa pod on for this year. wanting a contendor pistol is what got me into AK,s as I could build my own reciver and you dont get multipal shots with a contender. I am still going to get a contender some day but the AK,s I have been doing have been far exceding my expectations for hunting.
