bubbamauser I thought the same way looks to me like it will all fit with some mag latch/trigger guard work. I picked up a couple of those grade 3 milled yugo kits from the same place havent got them yet priced right we will see. I plan on adding a tab to the g3 mags. is doing one with a g3 mag catch I believe.

Not sure if this was directed towards me or someone else.

For my build, with the FAL mag the mag well is .7" further to the rear. The mag extends back behind the bolt so even if I am able to get the FCG into the same position I don't think the hammer will hit the pin, so I will use a longer pin.

Found the fix for the bolt issue yesterday. I was at Power Custom and Randall let me look at a Robinson Arms VEPR .308 rifle he has. Guess What?! The bolt looked like a 5.45 bolt opened up. No bulk like the M76 bolt. The carrier was dimesionally normal. The reciever was similar to the M70. Randall sells an adjustable trigger for this rifle. Make sure you ask for the SAR-3 version.

I was thinking of welding the RSB to the trunion and not having the barrel run through it.

The FAL barrel was too fat to fit in the RSB so I cut off the the part the goes on the barrel and welded it to the trunnion.

Well I got some more work done on the rifle.
I cut the AK gas tube under the upper hand guard and extended it 2".
After it gets installed, the FAL gas tube gets screwed in from the receiver.
I modded the AK bolt carrier. Removed the AK gas piston and the front half off the carrier.
Put a bushing in the nose of the carrier and installed the FAL gas piston. Pinned it.
I modified the rear end of the receiver to match the stock lines.
The receiver is made from a piece of rectangle tube and its 3" longer then stock. I lengthened the amount of pull by doing this. The rifle shoulders very well.
I still need to take two receiver covers and make them into one longer one.
    And then install the FCG.

I am still tossing around the idea of using a stock FAL gas block with the front sight, loose the AK sight, and then shorten the barrel so its 16.25" with the flash suppressor.
