Ah! Coyotes. Got it. I'm not knocking it, just curious is all. As far as I'm concerned, we need an AK in *every* caliber I'm doing a Wildcat as we speak. Slowly, surely, its coming together.

What about the bolt? Did you need to mod it, or does the .243 match to the 7.62x39 bolt head already?

I thought maybe it was coyotes. Imagine the look on your hunting buddies faces when they see your new coyote gun. Imagine the look on the coyote's face.

Since you said "Get Wood", I did! Note the space between the back of the receiver and the cut out in the stock. I will have to modify the rear trunion slightly to fill this void. The reinforcement plates will cover it.

That space all looks like it is in the back - does the stock have a space between the pistol grip and trigger guard? Seems like you could fix this by trimming some on the rear of the receiver. Normally, the rear part of the TG should be mated flush into the front of the PG. If you pulled that forward, I'll bet it would clean up a bit more. Maybe about 3/16" or so?

She is all the way forward. I should have crescent cut the lower part of the receiver. Too late now. IMPROVISE< ADAPT<OVERCOME!

You could also spot weld a bead on the front of the cover and dremel it smooth. That new "lip" can be painted and you'd never know it was there.

Back burner at the moment. +$200 of needed parts from K-var slowed it up.
