You want to sell one of those kits Biggun (or anyone else)?
I don't need a nice one, just needs to have a usable bore.
I got one and would like to build it, a spare would be nice to have so I can scavage parts from it for a 9mm AK build.

You and me both - I keep looking at that Suomi barrel, then at my lathe, and say "nah, not today".

It would be nice if I could find some 19 mm chinese trunions. then maybe the barrel would not need a sleeve. I dont think it would be hard to make a new trunion/scope mount/rsb/ in one piece as there is no need for locking lugs ect. just needs to be a block to hold the barrel. also was toying with making the trunion block and mag well one piece as well. just thinking out load here! what kind of accuracy are guys getting with the sunomi barrel I have read that the sunomi is capable of 1"moa. at 100 yards.

Muttman, what steel are you using for the trunion? How are you going to put the rail slots in?
Freedom is not free. Some will perish to preserve it for the many. Just as our Forefathers did before us, we must take up the battle and not waver. Victory is our only option.

    rbthntr64,
the steel is 4130, scrap from work. I used a dremmel slot cutter in the end mill. only cut .003 per pass. worked on it all night. the barrel hole was cut with a 7/8" end mill. the uzi baller will be sleved and pushed back to the locking lug's. muttman

yep that was the original plan! now im considering a complete milled reciver or possably a trunion with attached magwell and sight and a guide hole for a rod to run in place of the piston. thinking of doing away with the gas tube and block completly.

    1biggun,
have crosed that road and thought it would not have the lbs. needed to delay recoil for a blow back. muttman

so the thinking is you need the weight of the piston to make it function correct??
at any rate I like the home made trunion idea and is probably how I will do one If i ever get going again. I am still kicking around a milled reciver for one of these the fact that it would not need locking lugs should make it a lot eaiser than a standard ak reciver.
