Talking Need a barrel reamed to 7.62x25

Does anyone here have a 7.62x25 chamber reamer and can do a little lathe work? Nothing complicated. Just cut the existing chamber off, ream the new chamber, turn the barrel (chamber end) down some, and take a hair off of the muzzle end. I could do the lathe work in 15 minutes if I had access to a lathe.... Anyone want to donate a lathe? hehe...

    Thanks,
    Mike

Just out of curiosity, what barrel are you cutting? And welcome to Gunco!

Well I have a .30-30 barrel that I think should work fine. http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd....rSuperSKU=&MC= I also have one of the bull barrels that is .311 bore from Weaponeer.

Hotbarrel-Its a good thing you are not closer because I just might make a road trip to use that lathe....Thanks though!

Does anyone know who can do this for me? Please.... Or where I could get a reamer for 7.62x25 and not cost a ton of $$?

    Thanks,
    Mike

The cheapest way is to rent one. The only catch is read the terms well, they'll want it back in good shape.

If you're good with boring bars you can do without a rough reamer.

There are a number of guys you can send it off to but it's not cheap if done right. There are a lot of cheap barrels in 7.62x25. I have the equipment but I buy the barrels rather than go to that much trouble.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone make a 16+ inch barrel though? It looks like the SR-41 Carbine has a sleeve over an origional barrel..... I guess I will just use one too blah blah...

    Thanks,
    Mike

You can get a 30 Mauser reamer from Clymer for around $90 IIRC if you want to give it a try.

I bought 2 PPSH barrels and will just sleeve one of them for the rifle build. Thanks for the info though.
