Very interesting. Some time in this past year, I read about this MPC in one of the "special weapons" magazines. Something along the lines of "time to upgrade from the 223 now that it sucks" and there were three different cartridges, one of them being this one. I forget the other cartridges, but the idea was exactly what you mention - more "power" with a simple barrel swap. Interesting that they showed it still worked in the .223 SAW links.

There is also a 6.8 conversion that is simply a necked-up .223 with a 6.8. I think it is referred to as the 6.8-223.

I looked and now I can't find the article, so if I have it I can't find it. I can't remember if I bought that mag or not. The author indicated that the performance boost was not what he expected it would be, it was a rather mediocre boost in performance, and IIRC there was a drop-off in longer range performance. I'll keep digging around for that article.

I suspect OAL length might be a issue in a AK/AR mag. the MPC has aparently adressed this issue.

a 6mm version and a 7mm version also exist. seems like the 7mm is used in siloute shooting if I remember correctly.

it would be a cheap easy way to build a 6.5 in a ak or ar. to be honest a 243 win, 260 rem, 250 savage, even down loaded to lower pressures will spank all the 6.8,s 6.5 grendals 6.5MPC ect. and the AK will acept a 308 lentgth mag with a little work. My main reason for not doing one of these wonder rounds sooner is It will still be light for hunting deer IMOA ( my goal with most of my builds).
