Default I'm stumped - need PSL top cover

    For my dad's 6.5mm conversion.

I can't find these anywhere Any ideas? If I can't find one, I'm going to have to find a way to move or extend the rear sight block back another 1" and it won't look pretty.

I really hate to buy an entire PSL kit just for the top cover...

Call the usual suspects and beg for them to sell you that spare on the back shelf?

Yeah it may come down to that! Happy Labor Day BTW!

We really need the PSL length receiver for these French 7.5mm magazines as they are longer with a huge BHO tab on the back.

Here's another thought - is it possible to use the 1" longer PSL carrier in a Yugo/RPK style receiver? I have one PSL top cover for my .45-70 build, and if I can swing it so that I can use a standard-length receiver for the .45-70, I will use that and give this PSL top cover to dad. Since the .45-70 is about the same length as a .308, it should work out OK. I'm going to get into the safe today to see if any other receivers work with the PSL carrier.

Big Al has (had?) a Saiga .410 top cover for sale a few months ago - I wonder how long that is? IF the Saiga shotgun top covers match then I'd be set.

To use the PSL cover with a RPK receiver it'd need the rear PSL extensions or similar added. Or, maybe Coldsteel has long RPK blanks available?

Could some talented welder cut and weld two top covers together to make a longer one? Years ago I saw a coffee can that had been cut in half and welded back together, so I know it can be done.

Welding two covers together would be the next thing, you could alway tack it together then take it to a welder to finish it.
If looks aren't a big thing you could always spot weld two together, but that might look a little Bubbafied

    And a 410 top cover is just a hair over 9 1/4"

Also check Turbothis on theakforum board. He extended a top cover for one of his builds and if I remember correctly it looked pretty good.

Yeah..he was collecting alot of PSL and M76 parts for an 8mm build and then decided to buy a complete M76 instead. He should have one. He calls me some evenings (usually when I'm in bed). I answer the phone," Hellro..we are Chinese people..ping-pong ding-ling"..(South Park).... Next time I talk to him, I'll see if he has one to spare.
