They used a psl length receiver and carrier, you can even get the stub still. https://www.apexgunparts.com/product...32c160f5c8d76f
I've seen references to a Yugo M76 in 8mm Mauser. The couple of pictures I found showed an ordinary-looking milled AK.
The 8mm Mauser cartridge is right at three inches long, just a hair shorter than the 7.62x54R.
Did the 8mm Yugo use a PSL-length receiver, or did they push the magazine up further into the front trunnion like a Saiga .30-06?
Wow, that was a quick response! Thanks!
Do you know if there were any other long receivers besides the PSL and M76?
Ak inspired was the type 63 (68 sometimes) and derived from that the type81.

There have been some home-built 8mm Mauser aks using stamped receivers.
Yeah, at least one is pictured in the Gunsmithing & Build-it-yourself section on AK files.com using an extended CSS stamped receiver blank and a APEX barrel with dewat receiver section.

First time seeing the 81s..... interesting rifle.

The last three pictures look like it is missing the receiver someone may be trying to peace one together.. a little digging and looks like it is Biggame223 over on assultweb.net
I got a kick out of this one they say it is a psl but it is a Zastava M91 and disassembled to boot.. Multi-National Force - Iraq - Iraqi Army graduates first sniper class

An AK looks strange with a full wood stock!
