    Default Blowback bolt mods

I'm searching and not finding, probably bad search-fu. Somewhere there are pictures of what I need, but where????

I'm building a 7.62x25 AK. If I convert my bolt to blowback by welding it into the carrier, how will I be able to take out the firing pin retaining pin later?

I would need to grind off the cam lug, right?

Can someone who's done a pistol cal AK give me a few pointers? Thanks.

I wouldn't weld it in, just pin it into the unlocked position, or maybe mill out the cam slot in the carrier so it sits where it would be locked, but will still slide on the lower receiver rails.

I think the Weapons Guild site has some pic's of a build. You'll have to dig though. There are people who have built them here but getting pictures might be hard. I'de also say skip
the weld idea, and pin the carrier to the bolt.

Also look for 9mm & blow back, a 9mm build is almost the same.

You might have to just look back through the pages, the search function on here is finicky, here's one http://www.gunco.net/forums/f50/9mm-ak-32006/

Here's how I took care of the bolt & carrier in my .45ACP conversion:

    http://www.gunco.net/forums/f50/more...nversion-8781/

I bored the hole for accessing the firing pin retainer with a couple .125 endmills. I started from the bottom side with a ball endmill. Once through into the recoil spring tube, I switched to a standard square end cutter to deal with the curved surface on the inside of the tube. A drill bit will just follow the curve inside the tube and break.

My last post in that thread has links to the rest of the build.

A LOT of people have done 9mm and 7.62x25 builds, so there is a pretty decent amount of info available. There is even a complete 9mm/7.62x25 carrier available (I think from erieordnance), but I have no info about it.

As mentioned, check Weapons Guild, and the following link for some of the Gunco threads:

Thanks. That's what I needed to see. I'll poke around Weapons Guild and see what I can see there.
